Brand Spotlight… Pili Carrera

For the following blogs we are going to spotlight the different brand that we’re proud to offer our customers. In this first brand blog we are presenting Pili Carrera!

Pili Carrera became famous especially in Europe thanks to various royal families trusting the brand to dress their princes and princesses in such special occasions like coronations. But their beginning is much humbler. In the 1960´s Maria Pilar and her husband Bienvenido Carrera residents of Vigo an important fishing city in Galicia, Spain were expecting their first baby. Because they didn´t have much spare cash, she started to make her baby´s clothing. Soon her neighbors made her orders for the same clothing.

The couple then started selling the clothing in a children’s boutique owned by one of their family members until 1991 when they finally opened their very own store. Soon because of the quality and design of their clothing the brand started to grow nationally and abroad. Although the brand grew enormously, they still maintained their core values, everything is still made in Galicia, Spain to this day.

Every story has its ups and downs and this one is no exception. The brand started to accumulate financial difficulties and began closing physical stores to lower costs. However, when the pandemic hit they had no other choice but to close their doors indefinitely. After the pandemic an outside investor came, and they are back bringing the same amazing quality and designs to children’s fashion! We couldn’t be prouder of being part of their comeback.
